Mactan Island Hopping Part 2: Nalusuan Island Resort

Mactan Island Hopping Part 2 Nalusuan Island Resort

As promised, here’s the second part of our island hopping adventure in Mactan and the island is Nalusuan Island Resort. You can read the first part of our adventure here. After filling our stomach during lunch, we wrap up and went to the last island in our itinerary. The boat ride is not that long since the islands are situated near to each other. When we arrived, we were greeted by other tourist’s boat and a huge sign that it’s indeed the Nalusuan Island Resort.

Mactan Island Hopping Part 1: Gilutongan-Caohagan Island

mactan island hopping

Last year, my friends and I went to the north of Cebu for an island hopping escapade to visit some virgin islands. You can read them here, here and here. This time, we tried another three islands in Mactan. I’m planning to make this a two part series since the third island is so special for me that I decided to dedicate one post for it. I’ll post it later.

Our adventure started by going to Pier 1 and hopping on a ferry to Cordova Mactan. The ticket from Cebu to Cordova is 14 PHP each. Upon arriving in Cordova, we hailed a jeepney and it took us to where our adventure boat is waiting for us. A side note, we added 10PHP each for the driver of the jeepney to take us into the port. This is because the usual route of the jeepney is a kilometer away.

View From The Top: Taoist Temple Cebu Experience

For people visiting Cebu, one of the toughest things to do is choose where to explore. To be able to help you out, I’m going to post some of the wonderful places that you might be interested in exploring– starting with the Taoist Temple of Cebu.

Taoist Temple of Cebu is located at Beverly Hills Subdivision Cebu City. To go there, you can go to Lahug area and hire a motorcycle to bring you to the Temple. A better alternative is to hire a taxi. Many suggest that you should hire the taxi for the duration of your visit in the Temple because finding a taxi upon leaving is not that easy–location wise. With the advent of GrabTaxi, this is no longer a problem. Keep in mind that the Taoist temple is only open until 5:30 in the afternoon.

Overnight Stay at Estaca Bay Gardens Conference Resort

Overnight stay at Estaca Bay Gardens Conference Resort

In celebration of our anniversary, Sugarplum and I planned to stay at Papa Kit’s but due to some unforeseen event it didn’t push through, you can read about it here. On the brighter side, we were transferred to another resort that they owned and upgraded our accommodation to Executive. We were transferred to Estaca Bay Gardens Conference Resort

Travel from Papa Kit’s to Estaca Bay is just a 12-minute ride. Here’s a map from Papa Kit’s to Estaca Bay.

Papa Kit’s Marina and Fishing Lagoon: Fishing Adventure

Papa Kit's Marina and Fishing Lagoon: Fishing Adventure

May is a very special month for me and Sugarplum because it’s our anniversary month. Hooray!  On our first anniversary, we visited Tagaytay; on the second one, we explored the South of Cebu and meet the gentle giant of the sea. This year, we want to explore Papa Kit’s Marina and Fishing Lagoon. The place can offer a lot of activities: zipline, ATV, horseback riding, jungle adventure and fishing! You can also stay there overnight, their rooms are facing Silot Bay and I would have loved to see some magnificent sunrise or sunset, if we were really able to push through with our plans.

Our original plan was to book a room in Papa Kit’s and enjoy all the activities that the place can offer. According to their website, check-in is at 2PM and check-out is at 12 noon the next day. I read somewhere that it’s best to do all your activities during early morning or late afternoon, to do away with sunburn or too much heat. Staying overnight there is a really good idea, right? We had a not so good experience using their online booking thru There was no online payment but we received a confirmation about our reservation to Papa Kit’s. We were a little relieved because the first week of May is a long weekend and a peak season. Little did we know that our luck is about to be tested, read that as patience.  (more…)

Coco Palms Impromptu Adventure

coco palm impromptu adventure

Summer is already here and in my country we only have two seasons: hot and hotter. Definitely, it’s the hotter season now and it’s high time for some dip in the pool. Well, here’s a post that I’ve repackaged about our Danao Coco Palm Adventure last year.

One of the most exciting adventure one can experience is the one that’s roughly planned or an impromptu adventure. Last February 22, 2014 we took an impromptu adventure to the North of Cebu, specifically to Danao Coco Palms Resort. It was the birthday of my cousin, Kevin and at the same time the continuance of his apprenticeship in a Cargo ship (he’s a seaman and he needs to go to their ship and meet the Captain). We’re also planning a vacation sometime this March but Jill(one of my friends) can’t go with us since she will be assigned to Alabang by March. To push through the vacation, though it was not planned, we decided to go to Danao.  (more…)
