I’m not really sure how to say this but there’s no other way of saying but this:
Hey! I’m back!!!!!
Well, 2016 looks like an empty adventures, based on this blog since the last time I updated this was 2015, but really, a lot of things happened in 2016 and slowly but surely I’ll be posting the stories that I got from 2016. Sorry for the 1 year hiatus but the good news is now I want to get back in blogging.
Well I hope that you would still read my adventures! And by the way, happy 2017!
As promised, here’s the second part of our island hopping adventure in Mactan and the island is Nalusuan Island Resort. You can read the first part of our adventure here. After filling our stomach during lunch, we wrap up and went to the last island in our itinerary. The boat ride is not that long since the islands are situated near to each other. When we arrived, we were greeted by other tourist’s boat and a huge sign that it’s indeed the Nalusuan Island Resort.
A few posts ago, I’ve written about this well hidden place to hang out in Cebu. I talked about Wok’d, a Thai restaurant in that post. Here’s another entry about Streetscape– this time, it’s the biggest coffee shop in the area.
Vanille Bistro & Cafe is at the heart of Streetscape, it’s one of the biggest occupant in the area and one of the most cozy place to relax. They have a spacious second floor where guests can be comfy on their mix of sofa and soft chairs. The first floor contains their kitchen, their sweets and a big sofa for 2 sets of guests. It’s well lighted and their wifi is really good, what more can you ask for?
Last year, my friends and I went to the north of Cebu for an island hopping escapade to visit some virgin islands. You can read them here, here and here. This time, we tried another three islands in Mactan. I’m planning to make this a two part series since the third island is so special for me that I decided to dedicate one post for it. I’ll post it later.
Our adventure started by going to Pier 1 and hopping on a ferry to Cordova Mactan. The ticket from Cebu to Cordova is 14 PHP each. Upon arriving in Cordova, we hailed a jeepney and it took us to where our adventure boat is waiting for us. A side note, we added 10PHP each for the driver of the jeepney to take us into the port. This is because the usual route of the jeepney is a kilometer away.
This week, I started doing HIIT (High-intensity interval training) workout and I also started counting the right amount of calories and macros that I should be taking in. The HIIT workout is very difficult for me and I am very sore right now. Going up to the bedroom, which is situated in the second floor of our apartment, is one of the most challenging part of my day. But hey, no pain no gain.
As for the food, I started tracking what I am eating. I also stayed up late last Monday night just to get the correct macro nutrients and correct serving of my rice. I cannot live without rice, this is an Asian thing. Satisfaction in my meal is difficult if I cannot eat rice. The secret, I think here, is moderation. The first thing that I did is count the correct calories that I should be taking in. I used this application to get the correct amount of calorie. For a 5’4 and 64 kg gal like me, the right amount of calories that I should taking in is 1200 calories for one day. This is based on the fact that I am working in a sedentary environment, meaning that I spend a lot of time sitting rather than moving around. This is the baseline, meaning that I should go over if I integrate exercise into my day. If I burn 300 calories from an exercise, it means that I can/should eat another 300 calories in one day.
