As promised, here’s the second part of our island hopping adventure in Mactan and the island is Nalusuan Island Resort. You can read the first part of our adventure here. After filling our stomach during lunch, we wrap up and went to the last island in our itinerary. The boat ride is not that long since the islands are situated near to each other. When we arrived, we were greeted by other tourist’s boat and a huge sign that it’s indeed the Nalusuan Island Resort.
Unlike the previous islands that we visited, in this one we really land in the island. Our first stop was their long path walk towards the lobby. There we paid our entrance fee which is 200 PHP per person. This includes visiting their marine sanctuary.
Before heading out to the marine sanctuary, we had a coffee stop– or I had coffee while the others ordered juice from their restaurant. They are also offering Filipino food and the like in the restaurant. You can also stay for the night at the resort. We tour the whole resort before heading out into the marine sanctuary.
The marine sanctuary, for me, is the highlight of the whole tour. It’s situated near the path walk and accessible by a ladder. We were provided with a life jacket from our boat and we also bought some fish food with us. The moment we went down, we were swarmed by an amazing number of fish.
I was really scared at first, my paranoia kicked in the moment I dip my head in the water and saw too many fish. I was afraid that they would bite me, haha I was really scared at first. I’m really sorry. After a few minutes of making myself comfortable, I was able to swim and enjoy the view.
Here’s our underwater shot with a lot of fish in it. Yay!
I super love this adventure and I hope that I’ll be able to enjoy this place again. Soon!
