For people visiting Cebu, one of the toughest things to do is choose where to explore. To be able to help you out, I’m going to post some of the wonderful places that you might be interested in exploring– starting with the Taoist Temple of Cebu.
Taoist Temple of Cebu is located at Beverly Hills Subdivision Cebu City. To go there, you can go to Lahug area and hire a motorcycle to bring you to the Temple. A better alternative is to hire a taxi. Many suggest that you should hire the taxi for the duration of your visit in the Temple because finding a taxi upon leaving is not that easy–location wise. With the advent of GrabTaxi, this is no longer a problem. Keep in mind that the Taoist temple is only open until 5:30 in the afternoon.
I’ve been there for three times already: the first time with the boyfriend, then with friends for their tour in Cebu, and the recent one is with the boyfriend and his brother.
What I love the most about visiting the Taoist Temple Cebu is that the place gives off that feeling of peacefulness. The serene feeling of the whole place makes you comfortable and relax. It’s relaxing to watch the city and the view from the top of the temple is quite amazing.
Taoist Temple Cebu is a place of worship for Taoism. You’re not allowed to take photos inside the temple. And worshipers goes there to pray to the gods that their wishes be granted. This is done by dropping two block of woods. The answer is determined if both the woods are face up or down. I think they have a poster outside explaining the correct way of doing this and the correct reading of the answer.
The place was huge and it’s a great time to visit the place late in the afternoon as the beautiful sunset gives you a wonderful view. We were lucky to have this view on our last visit!
I hope to come back soon and enjoy this beautiful place again. See you again next time!
