After the Day 1 adventure of getting to Carnaza island which I posted here, we woke up just as the sun is rising for Day 2.
It’s amazing how late we did hit the sack the previous night and still managed to wake up around 6 AM. We certainly can’t do this at the city– I really don’t know why. But the sound of boats, the crispness of the salt water in the wind and that certain calmness by the beach is a great way to start our day. So, here’s what we did on our Day 2 adventure.
After drinking our coffee, we decided to walk along the shoreline and explore the island some more. According to the owner of the house we can buy fresh catch from the fishermen at around 8AM. We decided to wait for them to arrive and just explore the island while doing so.
We also explored the nearby shore by climbing on a small cliff. It’s another spectacular view
After swimming and immersing ourselves with this wonderful view we decided to check if the fishermen were back. They got some fresh catch of fish, crab, sting ray and more. Fresh in such a way that some of them are still alive. We were really excited and at the same time in awe of what we’re seeing. The crabs are really big and at the city they might cost around 350 PHP (8USD) each. One of the perks of buying directly from the fishermen is that they would gladly give you the cheapest price. We bought a fish, crab and sting ray at 80PHP(1.75USD) per kilograms. And mind you, that’s really a lot to take in. We had around 7 big crabs, 1 big fish and 1 sting ray. All in all, our loot cost around 500 PHP (~11USD) only.
PACKING UP AND EXPLORING
After the sumptuous breakfast, we packed up and would explore the island some more. On the other side of the island, a boat would fetch us at around 2 in the afternoon to bring us to another island– Higatangan Island, our second stop. After putting on sun block and packing everything up, we bade goodbye to the owner and thank her for her hospitality. It was really awesome staying at her home. We trek for a good 20 minutes under the scorching sun– it was around 10 AM and the sun is really blazing.
After the long trek, we finally arrived at another wonderful view of Carnaza.
At around 2 pm, the boat that would take us to our next destination did arrive.
I’ll definitely miss you Carnaza Island. It’s a good day and an enjoyable one for us. I’ll never get over the fact that the seafood in this particular island is way cheaper than in any place! I’m certainly glad of this adventure.
For our next destination, I’ll be posting about Higatangan Island. Watch out! 😛
Here’s Chyll and Joseph — posing in the boat that would take us to our next destination. Enjoy!
